Worship in Music
White Oak Baptist has a rich tradition of worshipping through music, both instrumental and vocal. From the Young Musicians (for the children) to the Oasis Choir (for seniors) there are opportunities for all to praticipate in some manner.
The Sanctuary Choir provides special music on Sundays, with other groups such as the mixed ensemble and various solos, trios, etc. contributing as well
Aother vital part of our music program is the Handbell choir which plays, from time to time, on Sundays and special occasions, under the direction of Darrell Newman.
Our accompanists are Rebecca Brannan, pianist; and Pat Malone, organist. Our Minister of Music is Steve Cathell.
We have begun our new hymnal drive. We will be asking folks to donate a new hymnal in memory or in honor of another. The name of the giver and the person in whose memory or honor it was given will be acknowledged inside that hymnal. We will also publish that information in the Builder. The existing hymnals will be used in the Sunday School rooms, and possibly a local church, should there be any left over.
