As kids all across our country return to school, we need to remember the battle that is taking place in those classrooms. The battle before our kids and families is a battle for truth verses the lie. The truth is we are created in the image of God, and we are created as male and female. We find this truth in the very first chapter of Genesis. “So, God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27). The lie is that we can make ourselves into anything that we want because we are evolved creatures that can mistakenly take on the wrong form. Our form may be that of a boy, but we really are a girl, so we need to act and live in a way of the form that we desire to be. I am not going to mince words here; this is a complete and utter lie. It is a lie against the created form, and it is a lie against the scientific DNA that exists within humanity. The battle for the truth is nothing new but is an age-old battle that continues to try and destroy the creation of God.
For children are easily influenced and manipulated by people they are told to trust. Teachers are to be trustworthy people who are simply called to teach our children how to read, write, and do math. Teachers are to be supplementing what comes from home. Parents are to be the primary educators and leaders of their children; it is parents who are given the responsibility to raise and train children. Even though we send kids to school that does not mean we give up or transfer our rights and responsibilities. It is in the home that children should be taught the truth of right and wrong. It is in the home that children should be raised to understand that God has created them. Teachers and schools are to simply supplement what is happening in the home, not to be indoctrinating kids to not trust what is being taught at home.
In our home we stress the importance of love and care for each other. We speak the importance and priority of Christ and the created order. It is our responsibility to make sure that our children understand what is right and what is wrong. I want my children to see understand that they are created in the image of God and that they have a purpose and plan for their lives. My kids understand that they can have open and honest conversations with my wife and myself. They know that we love them, and we desire the best for them.
In closing, as your kids and grandkids go back to school, make sure that you are involved in their lives. They are heading for a battlefield that is set on destroying the home. Culture is trying to redefine the created order and through that process indoctrinating our children. The best way to help protect our children is to be involved in the school that your children attend. Volunteer with the PTA, go help out with lunch duty, spend time communicating with the teacher and staff. It is your right and responsibility to be involved as a parent and grandparent. If your school is hostile to your involvement, then I would suggest trying to find another school. If you can’t find another school, be persistent in your desire and right to be involved in the life of your child and their education. This a battle and hill that is worth dying on because our children are at stake.
